7 Tips For Blogging, Part 2
In my previous blog post Tools and Resources For Network Marketers, I listed 7 tips for bloggers. Let’s continue today with tips 3, 4 and 5.
3. Use a blog post title that will catch attention.
This seems self-explanatory, but let me give you some examples. I’ve seen post titles like “My post today”, “Blogging”, or “Lose weight”. They might contain a keyword, but not very eye-catching when someone first sees your blog post in a search result.
“My post from a 10 story ferris wheel”, “How to set up a blog post in 5 minutes using WordPress”, or “Lose 10 pounds in 7 days with this diet” might make better titles for your blog post.
4. Use heading tags (h1, h2, etc)
The use of heading tags help break up your paragraphs and make them stand out. They also help search engines with the structure of your post.
You can find help on using heading tags within the support documents of WordPress. You can also find help on simple HTML codes by searching the Internet or self-help books.
5. Break up your content into shorter easier to read paragraphs
Have you seen blog posts that contain line after line of text with no breaks or new paragraphs? It’s almost annoying, isn’t it. You are not writing a novel, just a short blog post (about 500 words). Avoid using long paragraphs.
Check out some of my blog posts and see how I break up the content to make it easier to read. Using bullets or numbering also helps the reader.
