Follow upToday I’m going to share more tips that I got from my friend and mentor Ray.

First of all, we need to find prospects for our business opportunity. You find prospects via your warm market (your friends and family), or cold market (strangers, social media, blogs).  You want to concentrate on getting more prospects watching your business/product presentation. The more the better.

Follow up

One of the most important tasks after you have found prospects for your business is your follow up.  When contacting your prospects on the phone, be busy. Yes, you don’t want to spend an hour trying to explain the compensation plan or the ingredients of your product. Don’t get too hung up on one prospect.

Let your company presentation do the work. Your presentation may be in the form of a CD, a website link, or a webinar. Ask them when they will be able to watch the presentation.  Suppose they say, “tonight.” Then you respond that you will call them back at a certain time tonight.

When you call them back the first question is, “did you get a chance to watch the presentation?”
If they say no, then respond that it’s no problem but you have other people to follow up with tonight who did watch it. “Maybe I can get back with you tomorrow or in a couple days.”

Don’t pitch them over the phone until they have watched your presentation. Don’t sound desperate. You are busy and you want them to watch the presentation before going further.


If they did watch the presentation, the first question is, “what did you like best about the presentation?”
Let them tell you what they liked and sell themselves. If they liked one thing, ask them what else they liked. Then ask them, “sounds to me like you are ready to join”… [silence wait for their answer]
